Win A Trip for 2 To Disneyland And Be A Part Of The Disneyland Diamond Celebration

In 1955, two events happened that changed the world -Disneyland and I were both born. Five children, four grandchildren and millions of visitors later, I am happy to report that Disney and I are still going strong! I was one of those lucky ones to first experience the magic that Disneyland® sprinkled on all of those that entered this most magical of places that becomes a part of your heart, soul, being and the legacy you leave to generations to come. My first visit to The Happiest Place on Earth was in October, 1955 . I was 9 months old at the time and I haven’t missed a year since then. To this day I can still remember the sights and sounds. The smell of the popcorn, the hustle and bustle, the laughter, and joy and especially the colors of all that surrounded me. I also have vivid recollections of my mom trying to board the World Famous Jungle Cruise and losing her footing and almost dropping me in the water-and if you don’t believe me, then you’re in de-Nile. Today this remains my all time favorite attraction and someday, I will captain the boat.
If you’ve ever wondered if you’re child is too young to visit Disneyland®, I can say with 100% certainty, you’re never too young, or too old to experience the magic and hold onto those memories. There is simply no memory in my life that doesn’t include Disney in some way, shape or form. Back in the day I have vidid recollections of the Matterhorn as scaffolding, and a time gone by when the showpiece of Tomorrowland, the TWA Moonliner was the tallest structure in the Park, even taller than Sleeping Beauty Castle, or riding donkeys (yes real, not animatronic) and traveling by stagecoaches pulled by horses through the trails of Frontierland up through the changes throughout the generations.
I think for me, the most profound way Disneyland has played a role in my life was when I chaperoned my youngest and his friends to Grad Night, which happened to be forty years to the exact day and date of mine. Where else can you find something that has made that kind of a lasting impact not just on my life, but one the generations to come.
Disneyland and I have certainly transformed and changed over the last half century, but every time I walk through those magical gates, it’s as though I am experiencing it all for the first time. And now Disney has become an even more integral part of our own family with my youngest joining the ranks of those who grow up dreaming of dancing at Disney, and now is living out his dreams.
With enough memories and experiences to fill a lifetime it is my hope to help others create their own lifetimes of magical moments. If you thought seeing Disney through the eyes of your own child is amazing, just wait until you get see it through the eyes of your grandchildren. Disneyland always has been, and always will be my place where all my dreams can and do come true. No matter how old I become, or the number of visits I have make to the Happiest Place on Earth, I still get that heart-racing excitement from the moment I walk into the Park, pause under the railroad bridge and stop to read Walt’s immortal words.
It is the one place where I can live in the moment and allow myself to feel the child within. It’s my connection between the generations, between parent and child, and is the legacy and memories I give to my children, and for them in turn to pass on to their own children for many generations to come. And because I want every family to experience the magic first hand, just as it has been a part of my life, that the lives of my children and now grandchildren, I have a special pixie-dusted gift just for you.
