Top 10 Disney World Rides – Did Your Favorite Make The List?

lDisney World has some of the greatest rides in the world, and people come from all over to experience them. But which are the best? Here’s our countdown to our top 10 Disney World rides.
How many rides are at Disney World?
Every year guests vacation at the “Most Magical Place on Earth” to enjoy the rides, attractions, and entertainment that Disney has to offer. But how many are there? Currently, there are 52 attractions with more opening later this year.
- Magic Kingdom: 25 Rides
- EPCOT: 10 Rides
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: 9 Rides
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: 9 Rides
Best mountain ride: Space Mountain
Space Mountain was one of the original Disney World attractions and is still one of the best rides. It’s a midway-style roller coaster that takes you on twists and turns, drops, dips, and dives in complete darkness at speeds up to 67 mph.
Best slow ride: Disney’s Jungle Cruise
Jungle Cruise is an entertaining boat ride navigated by a tour guide who shares stories about animals and plants, as well as taunting you with the occasional “animal attack.” Jungle Cruise features five different jungle rivers, each with its own unique wildlife and adventure!
Best creepy ride: Haunted Mansion
The Haunted Mansion is one of Disney’s oldest rides and features a walk-through attraction with scenes depicting the story of an old southern plantation home.
Best educational ride: Kilimanjaro Safaris
Kilimanjaro Safari takes you on an up-close and personal safari adventure through the African savannah amid herds of giraffes, zebras, wild boars, and more!
Best ride on a hot day: Kali River Rapids
Kali River Rapids is a family-friendly ride that takes you on an exciting journey through the forest and on an adventurous raft ride through African jungles.
Biggest stomach-dropping ride: Tower of Terror
The heart-stopping Disney World attraction is a popular thrill adventure, designed to be a must for those seeking an adrenaline rush!
Most fun classic attraction: It’s A Small World
Although it may seem like just another Magic Kingdom ride with cheesy singing animatronics, there is still something special about boats sailing in unison around the world. After all these years, it remains one of our favorite attractions at Walt Disney World Resort!
Favorite water attraction: Pirates of Caribbean
Pirates of the Caribbean is a boat ride through Caribbean waters and past pirate ships. Does anyone know what happened to all the rum?
Most unique Disney World attraction: Animal Kingdom’s Expedition Everest
The first mountain-top coaster with an angry Yeti, Expedition Everest is a must-ride for any thrill seeker. Expedition Everest is one of the most intense, exciting rides in all of Walt Disney World. Race past snow-capped mountain peaks on this thrilling adventure and discover for yourself why some say it’s just too much fun to be true!
Best rollercoaster: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
You’ll scream with delight as your vehicle launches into a wild series of twists, turns, and loops at an incredible 60 miles per hour aboard the breathtaking Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster!
BONUS: Best DO NOT MISS Ride: Rise of the Resistance
Never before has anything come close to this new attraction and it absolutely checks all the boxes. From immersive storytelling to surprises around every turn, to a mixture of thrills, chills, and lots of laughs, our pick for the best attraction is absolutely Rise of the Resistance.
Extra BONUS: Best New Coaster: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is like no coaster you’ve ever blasted off on for an epic out of this galaxy experience. Disney is calling Cosmic Rewind its first “story coaster” because the cars fully rotate to show off key-themed elements of the ride as passengers help save the galaxy. It is also one of the longest enclosed coasters in the world. The sheer size of the building is overwhelming once inside. By volume, four Spaceship Earths, the geodesic sphere that is central to Epcot, would fit in the attraction’s colossal show building. Like Space Mountain, you can’t see the ride while waiting in line, and on the ride itself, it is so dark you can’t see more than a few yards ahead. The combined darkness, high-tech screens, and lights are used to stunning effect. The steel tracks make for a super-smooth trip that can make you feel like you are floating in outer space and suddenly you are not merely watching the movie but you are IN the movie. It is NOT to be missed!
With 50 attractions (and growing!), there’s so much to do and see at Disney World that it can be hard to narrow down your favorites – but we hope you enjoyed our top ten list of all-time bests! Take a look and decide for yourself; which is your favorite and when TRON opens in just a few short weeks, will that top the list?
