“I don’t like formal gardens. I like wild nature. It’s just the wilderness instinct in me, I guess” – Walt Disney
It seems like it was just yesterday that Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened its doors to guests thus introducing to the world a place where the magic of nature with rare animals and world-class entertainment came together but in just a few short weeks, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will mark its 21th anniversary on Earth Day, April 22, with more wild adventures than ever before – kicking off spring and setting the stage for an incredible summer filled with all-new events and experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Commemorating the 21 years of celebrating nature, animals and Earth at its very best, the 500-acre adventure park will offer animal encounters, family-friendly activities, specialty desserts and invites you to connect with nature and wildlife at this annual Earth Day event—April 20 through 22, 2019.
Over the weekend “Party for the Planet” celebration, guests can attend conservation talks by animal-care experts and participate in enhanced interactions with some of the more than 2,000 animals that make their home at the Association of Zoos and Aquariums-accredited park.
Party for the Planet kicks off the moment you enter the park, as no Guest will be able to miss a larger-than-life marine debris sculpture celebrating Disneynature Penguins on display in the Oasis. The fun continues throughout the park with unique character appearances, special entertainment, and commemorative photo opportunities available with Disney PhotoPass photographers.
Throughout this special weekend event you can meet some of our amazing animal care experts, animal educators and conservation experts to see first-hand how Disney cares for animals and works to save endangered species worldwide. Watch animal feedings and training experiences, specially planned for Party for the Planet, to learn how our keepers care for some of your favorite animals.
