Print It, Stick It, Share It With HP Social Media Snapshots

When it comes to capturing life’s most precious moments, it’s easy to snap a photo with our phones and post it straight to social media.  Now, thanks to our friends at HP, it’s just as easy turn your favorite social media uploads into tangible memories!

When I was asked if I’d like to try out the new  HP Social Media Snapshots available now only at Staples of course I jumped at the chance.  Ask any educator and they’ll tell you that one of the biggest goals they have for their students it to help lead them to a place where there is a gradual release of responsibility where they become independent thinkers and leaners. Sometimes that is easier said than done, especially when you’re working with a group of highly talented and motivated middle school students who are indeed ready for that next big leap.

Thanks to our new Envy printer from HP and this revolutionary new product, we’ve been able to almost completely eliminate the “drama” that comes with so many details that come with putting on a musical, from our drama class. Even better, watching the students gain confidence by taking ownership of the tasks at hand and the confidence that comes with that-priceless. 

It took the students mere minutes to have our new HP Envy printer set and ready to go. Now we were no longer tethered to the laptop, as the wireless capability means I can print from my phone from anywhere. As you can imagine, with 68 students all in one class, and being three weeks out from our first musical production of the year, the same questions tend to get asked over and over again.

Inquiries from “Which rack does my costume go on?” to “Where do I put my hat so it doesn’t get mixed up with the other cast’s?” to “ What should my makeup look like for this scene?” are now easily handled with the visual directions that now adorn the class.

The students even captured and posted a Snapshot showing the correct way to hang up pants on the hanger, and another one showing which way the hangers should all face.  The creative thinking and problem solving skills that have come into play since we introduced it into the classroom is learning at its very best.
