For me, there is nothing I love having more than all my family together, even when we don’t really have a reason. The feeling of family and friends gathered together for meals around a table, laughing and talking, is pure joy. So for this summer look no further for your family celebration. These easy ideas are sure to impress your family and friends. Lets get started!!!
Setting up for the 4th can be so much fun! Embracing the patriotism of our great country and getting together with family and friends is the perfect gathering! I wanted to set a great table and take some “cheap” Target finds and make them look like I had spent serious money on them! Trying to be a savvy shopper I hit the dollar deals isle at the front of the store and grabbed this cool navy utensil caddy. It was $5.00 and very plain. I knew I could add some sort of graphic to it and we would be well on our way. I also hit the birthday isle and grabbed some paper decorations in red. With a few foam stars they would be perfect. Some handkerchiefs (or bandanas) from the craft store, festive plates and white candles and off I go!
I grabbed my Cricut and made this cool graphic from the Stand and Salute Cartridge. I loved this and knew for my mother-in-law she would love having the utensil caddy. I used the cut feature to cut this permanent white vinyl. Then weeded the vinyl and used a masking tape transfer sheet to put the image onto my caddy, because without the transfer tape the image can become bubbled (not smooth) or uneven. There are some great Youtube videos for this if you need assistance!
The next item I wanted to use was a bandana or handkerchief. I love the original reds and blues but for a change, I picked the blue and white patterns. They were $.97! Love the price. They are perfect for setting a table for any bar-b-que and even better as a favor or napkin for our July 4th party. The options for how to use them are pretty endless. Here are a few options for your table.
But if you have some mason jars throw some sand and votives in for great ambiance (as shown in previous photos). Or for a kid friendly option hit the dollar store and get some glow sticks to keep them safe, busy, and visible when the sun goes down. The best part is when the sun goes down there is no better late night dessert for celebrating together than roasting some marshmallows and making s’ mores! I found these cool square marshmallows that are perfect for the grill, oh so good!
Hope that you all have a wonderful and safe July 4th celebration! Cheers! What are you tried and true easy tips for a festive July 4th table?
