Today’s world isn’t always easy, and it isn’t always kind but then along comes something that makes us laugh, and makes us smile and gives us reason to hope and just plain old feel good about life all over again-that reason-Disney’s Pete’s Dragon.

PETE'S DRAGON

PETE’S DRAGON

Although I was a huge sentimental fan of the first version, this is not just a remake but reimagined in every sense of the word.  It doesn’t step on the toes of the original but it does pay homage to it in every way that counts. Pete’s Dragon brings to life the beautiful, touching story of a young boy who loses his family, but then ultimately finds family in the end showing that family can come in every shape and size-and even include a dragon as a trusted friend.

For a few short hours, you are transported into a world where you believe that anything is possible, when you believe and that there is indeed good to be found in the world. And face it, by the end of the film, when you wipe away the tears (yes bring tissues) and you come out smiling and full of hope and joy, you’ll wish that you had an Elliott all of your own.

And now here’s a look at Disney’s Pete’s Dragon:

Starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Oakes Fegley, Wes Bentley, Karl Urban, Oona Laurence, Isiah Whitlock, Jr. and the one and only Robert Redford, brings to life the tale of the old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) who has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest.

To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliot. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliot seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-yearold girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon. Reintroduce yourself and your family to a world of imagination and belief where anything is possible when you believe, even a best friend that just happens to be a dragon and take the family to Disney’s Pete’s Dragon, now playing in theaters everywhere.Pete's-Dragon-Teaser-Poeter
