Star Wars: Rise Of The Resistance:
Never before have I have experienced anything quite like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. I had seen the pictures, watched some of the videos but nothing can prepare you for the most epic attraction ever created in this galaxy or any other-it is just that good. Created in a way never before imagined, the Disney Imagineers have gone above and beyond and truly brought to life a ride never before imagined -out of this world scale and proportions. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is a massive attraction with multiple ride systems that is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced at Walt Disney World Resort… or anywhere else in the galaxy and it MUST BE EXPERIENCED as nothing can prepare you for it-it is just that good.
This attraction takes you into a world where the Resistance needs your help! Hidden in the forest outside Black Spire Outpost, the Resistance is gathering recruits for a secret mission. The immersive storytelling and details that you uncover as you make your way through the queue help to ready you for your mission.
With the First Order desperate to extinguish the spark of the Resistance, the mission is bound to have unexpected twists and turns. When your transport is captured by an imposing First Order Star Destroyer filled with legions of stormtroopers—and even Kylo Ren!—you’re going to need all the help you can get. Fortunately, a covert team of Resistance fighters—including Rey and BB-8—is at the ready to give you a fighting chance to escape… and a chance for the Resistance to rise. Prepare for a thrilling, first-of-its-kind adventure!
How To Ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance:
As more and more Guests ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Disney has been testing new ideas to make the overall experience the best it can be. Right now it is all about the Virtual queue which you can access right from your mobile device on the My Disney Experience app Here’s what to know:
- The virtual queue will be available at the published park opening time. We tested it out when we visited last week and the boarding groups became live precisely at 7:00 am which was the posted Park opening time for that particular day. If you ever needed one more reason to stay on property at a Walt Disney World resort hotel-this is it-Extra Magic Hours!
- At the park’s published opening time, the virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opens along with offerings throughout the rest of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests must be in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to access virtual queue in the My Disney Experience app.
Due to the incredible popularity of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Disney will continue to distribute backup boarding groups after the initial planned groups have been filled. Backup boarding groups will only be called if all of the initially planned boarding groups have been called back and there is capacity for more riders that evening. If they are able to accommodate boarding groups that evening, Guests will be notified through the My Disney Experience app by a push notification (if enabled).
For anyone with questions with the virtual queue, the members of the Guest Experience Team are available throughout the park to assist. And while people wait for their turn to rise up with the Resistance, there’s plenty to do around Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Star Tours: The Adventures Continue
We were the very first to board a flight to a galaxy far, far away as the newly imagined Star Tours: The Adventure Continues now offers new experiences including scenes from the just-released film,
Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker and were the first to boardStarspeeders and were able to head to exciting destinations inspired by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Over the years, C-3PO and R2-D2 have taken Star Tours passengers to amazing destinations and the adventure on the surface of the ocean moon Kef Bir is one of the wildest they’ve ever created with their partners at Industrial Light & Magic!
The updated adventures will include an urgent transmission from none other than Lando Calrissian to join in the battle to end all battles!
It’s been an incredible Star Tours journey when it first debuted at the Disneyland Resort and over the years it continues to evolve with the addition of new sequences to keep Star Tours – The Adventures Continue relevant with the evolving film saga, and even more exciting to experience!
With the new Rise of Skywalker updates, Star Tours now offers you more than 100 storytelling combinations (but don’t worry, for the next few months we’ll exclusively feature the destinations inspired by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker).

Whether you’re looking for attraction specific such as Star Wars: The Rise of the Resistance themed clothing or new merchandise inspired by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker or want to get a head start on the new year, there is truly something for everybody.

Disney Skyliner Takes Flight
The all-new Disney Skyliner is now open and is smooth sailing across the skies of Walt Disney World and is the best addition to the Walt Disney World transportation system to ever take flight. This Innovative gondola system transports guests in style from four Disney resort hotels to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This “most magical flight on Earth” connects Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the new Disney’s Riviera Resort, a Disney Vacation Club resort that is now open. With approximately 300 vacation homes, including various accommodation types, Disney’s Riviera Resort is available for traditional hotel reservations as well as membership sales.
Disney Skyliner guests have a bird’s-eye views of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including the Hollywood Tower Hotel. Approaches to Epcot are equally eye-catching, as the countries around World Showcase Lagoon come into view with iconic Spaceship Earth in the distance.
In addition to convenient theme park access, guests staying at Disney resort hotels accessible by Disney Skyliner now have quick-and-easy transportation to a world of other dining and entertainment options. These include all the fun of Disney’s BoardWalk entertainment district, access to Epcot through the International Gateway station, and restaurants and recreation found at the resort hotels serviced by Disney Skyliner.
Disney Skyliner Stations Are Artful Connection Points
The artful stations along the Disney Skyliner route feature uniquely Disney designs that reflect their surroundings:
- The Epcot International Gateway station is inspired by the nearby European pavilions in the park. Covered metal and glass canopies, hand-painted murals themed to flight and ornate metal detailing are all in the Art Nouveau style.
- The Disney’s Riviera Resort station incorporates influences from the Mediterranean coast to produce an elegant portal for guests.
- The station at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort connects all three routes and extends the architectural details and bright island colors associated with the Caribbean.
- The Disney’s Hollywood Studios station reflects the Art Decostyle of the park’s main entrance area. Guests arriving on Disney Skyliner will be awestruck as a panoramic view of the park unfolds.
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort share a Disney Skyliner station at Hourglass Lake. Colorful structural forms create a space that feels whimsical and contextual with both resorts. Departing the station, guests will glide above Hourglass Lake and ascend to thrilling views of both resort hotels.
In addition, Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co., the official specialty coffee of Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort and Disney Vacation Club, now welcomes guests with a quick-service location adjacent to the station at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Get ready to ride! Mickey and Minnie are getting ready to take you on a leisurely drive to a picnic in their sporty roadster—with Engineer Goofy’s train following merrily along. Climb aboard a runaway railway and embark on a whirlwind ride through a world where the rules of physics don’t apply. Prepare for unexpected twists, slapstick gags and mind-boggling transformations at every turn, as Mickey and Minnie try to save the day.
There’s no telling where this train is heading! This is an adventure for Mickey and Minnie fans of all ages—coming March 4, 2020. This first of its kind ride is based on the recent award-winning Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a brand-new attraction unique to Walt Disney World Resort and Disney’s Hollywood Studios—and the first ride at any Disney park that stars Mickey Mouse and friends.
Be sure to keep those peepers peeled—there are more hidden Mickeys here than any other Disney attraction or area in the world!
An Out of This Galaxy Stay- Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will begin “transporting” guests to a galaxy far, far away in 2021. This two-night vacation experience will surround guests 24/7 in Star Wars storytelling, including a visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Guests will start their arrival experience at the Galactic Starcruiser Terminal, as well as the out-of-this-world transport that will take guests from Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
