7 Wonders Aboard The Disney Wonder

Ever “wondered” what it was like to sail away with the Disney Cruise Line onboard the Disney Wonder? Earlier this year, we had the chance to explore and discover all there is to see on do on Disney’s newly reimagined Wonder and it is everything we ever dreamed it would be and so much more.
The Ship
The Disney Wonder is a large ship and though it was fully booked for this voyage it never felt crowded. I was struck by the beauty of the ship itself and all the interesting places aboard from the open upper decks to the lobby and grand staircase and everything in between.
Sunrise
Sunrise at sea is something truly special. We woke early and went all the way forward to the bow to watch the sun rise from the water. It was incredibly beautiful and my photos don’t even begin to do it justice.
Food
Eating your way through the ocean is a lot of fun especially when your food choices are virtually unlimited. I never got over simply walking up to a counter or into a restaurant or up to a buffet and filling my plate with whatever I wanted at all hours of the day or night. The food ranged from fast casual to truly elegant with everything in between.
Pools
Three swimming pools on a ship? How is that even possible? Yet there they were, one after another on the top deck. From bow to stern first was the adult pool, a quiet area where adults sunned themselves, had a drink and took a dip in the swimming pool or the adjoining hot tubs. Next was the fairly noisy family pool where kids and their families mingled and had a great time with pizza, burgers, hot dogs, fries, drinks and other casual food nearby. Finally towards the stern was the kid’s pool and waterslide where kids and fun reigned supreme.
Shows
Shows? Yup, the Disney Wonder has multiple Broadway caliber shows, a different one every night in the spacious Buena Vista Theater. How did they find the space for that big of a theater? Shows range from review style featuring all your favorite Disney characters to the brand new musical production of “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular” featuring a slightly shortened version of Disney’s most recent giant hit film. It’s all live with amazing singing and dancing and incredible special effects happening right there on the stage in front of you.
Characters
It’s Disney, right? Of course, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and all the rest of your favorite Disney characters will be joining you on the cruise. Plus thar be Princesses aboard as well. Cinderella, Belle, Ariel and all the rest are aboard as well to visit with all their young and not so young fans.
Cruising
Within a very short time you find yourself completely unwinding and getting into the rhythm of cruising. Time and the outside world stop mattering so much and sitting on your very own balcony just watching the water go by is all you want or need to do.
