7 Reasons To Sail Away With Carnival Cruise Line The Art of Cruising Aboard the Carnival Glory #CarnivalCruise #CarnivalGlory

Ever wondered what it’s like to sail away with Carnival Cruise Line? Well, wonder no more because we can say without hesitation that when they named them the Fun Ships, they absolutely live up to that name and so much more.
With truly something for everyone whether you want to do everything or nothing at all, Carnival Cruise Line makes you feel like family from the very first moment you step onboard. Recently we had the chance to sail off on a cruising vacation to the eastern Caribbean aboard the Carnival Glory. Best vacation ever!
There’s no doubt that we both now love cruising and sailing with Carnival is an absolutely fabulous way to go. Here are some of our favorite things about sailing on the Carnival Glory.
The Ship
The Carnival Glory is a large shop with over 3000 guests and over 1100 crew members and yet we never felt like we just part of a crowd.
The ship itself is spacious with all sorts of places to explore. How do you have swimming pools on a giant ship?
I have no idea but there were two of them plus lots of whirlpools, a giant lobby/atrium stretching over seven decks,
two main dining rooms, a casino, a large theater, numerous bars and lounges, and the list goes on.
Staterooms
We chose a stateroom with a balcony. Balcony rooms cover three full decks plus parts of two more.
Our room was remarkably spacious, inviting, and well appointed not to mention incredibly well maintained by the excellent housekeeping staff.
Food
Carnival absolutely shines in the food department. A big selling point for many cruise companies is how all-inclusive the experience can be.
While some cruises are a little less than the ideal, this is an area where Carnival delivers.
There is an excellent buffet for all meals, elegant dining rooms for fantastic dinners and sit down breakfast, burger, deli, pizza, and Mexican food counters, soft serve ice cream
and frozen yogurt…… and the list goes on and it’s all included, nothing additional to pay for.
Shows
We were blown away by the shows onboard the Glory. There aren’t enough adjectives to describe the quality of what we were treated to in the large, state of the art theater.
On our week-long cruise, there were four fabulous revue-style shows based on various musical genres performed by a group of eight incredibly talented triple threat singer/dancer/actors and a terrific live theater band.
The talent level of the performers was on par with Broadway productions. Simply incredible and far more than a pair of theater fanatics like Gayle and I ever expected.
Entertainment
Aboard the Carnival Glory there is plenty more entertainment than just the shows. Musical and general trivia contests led by our Cruise Director Dustin were lots of fun.
Plus there’s a comedy club, a piano bar, an in-house rock band with a seemingly endless repertoire, a latin band, a musical duo, bingo, casino gambling and let’s not forget the hands-on demonstration seminar on the fine art of folding towel animals.
There’s always something for everyone on the Glory. Even better, we were lucky to put our Music Trivia skills to good use and came home with the coveted Piece of Ship award!
Shore Excursions
We enjoyed four different ports of call on our week-long Caribbean cruise and there was a wide range of activities to enjoy on each.
From just lying on a pristine beach to historical tours, from sailing/snorkeling trips, to scuba diving for the expert divers among us, to going out into the community and learning about and working with the local people there was always something wonderful to do.
People
Perhaps the best thing of all on the Carnival Glory is the crew itself. Everyone we met was a consummate professional in whatever their particular job might be.
Every crew member was friendly, helpful, did their job with a smile and often went above and beyond in providing excellent service.
The dining and housekeeping staff were especially wonderful from start to finish. These magnificent people welcomed us with open arms and treated us as if we were family to them and within hours, a lifelong connection was formed with each and every one of them.
Overall this was one of the best vacations we ever took and I can unabashedly recommend sailing with Carnival!
The downside – it was hard to say Farewell to the people that had so quickly become our family so instead of “Good Bye” it will now be “Until We Meet Again”.
