From fabulous food to spectacular flora and fauna that will take your breath away to workshops to music that makes you want to get up and dance and so much more, this is the one festival that encourages you to leave the hustle and bustle of the world behind and slow down and take some time to slow down and smell the flowers.

Even though I’ve been to this beautiful festival of storytelling through nature for many years now, but when I had the chance to stroll through Epcot when I was hosted by Disney Parks for a day of magical fun, the teacher in me decided it was time to seek out some of the fun and educational adventures

created just for kids and whether you’re young, or young at heart, the Epcot International Flower and Garden incorporates learning as it should be down and that is to experience it with all 5 senses because that is when the true discovery and understanding takes place.

Whether you’re heading to Epcot with your kids, your grandkids, a classroom full of eager learners, or just exploring on your own, be sure not to miss these STEM favorites. All of these great activities will allow you to connect with nature while wandering through family-friendly play areas, gardens and exhibits geared specifically to kids. Here is a small look at our 7 must-see things!
SPIKE’S POLLEN NATION EXPLORATION

Spread your wings during a scavenger hunt that promises to sprout tons of fun! Disney, Disney, filled with whimsy, how does your garden grow?

Throughout the run of the Flower and Garden Festival gardeners of all ages are invited to participate in a springtime scavenger hunt starring Spike, the bzzzz-iest honey bee at Walt Disney World Resort.
Embark on a search for Spike’s best blooms as he pollinates flower beds across Epcot!

Begin this botanical-happy hunt by purchasing a map at Port of Entry. Next, buzz through the World Showcase in search of flowers featuring the big bee himself, then return your completed map to Port of Entry for a special surprise.
Take flight with Spike until the end of the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.
THE GOODNESS GARDEN BUTTERFLY HOUSE – PRESENTED BY GOGO SQUEEZ

Nature lovers of the curious kind will love learning about these glorious creatures—from egg to full-grown beauty!

Peer into a colorful kaleidoscope of butterflies at this foliage-filled exhibit. Guests can observe several species up-close, learn about the distinct stages of their life cycles and may even witness an amazing metamorphosis as caterpillars emerge from their chrysalis.

Let Your Epicurean Adventure Begin!

Embark on a mouthwatering mission to taste your way around a healthy, wholesome smorgasbord with truly something for everyone. With over a dozen delectable stops, the World Showcase at Epcot plays host to the Festival-exclusive Outdoor Kitchens, each offering a specialty menu of creative cuisine and libations. Savor, sip and stroll while satisfying appetites large and small!

This year’s festival features 17 Outdoor Kitchens and several other locations through the park that will be offering delectable festival bites and libations.

Special dining packages are also available for the Garden Rocks Concert Series. This concert series runs for 90 nights and features over 270 performances by tons of popular artists. This dining package allows you to have either breakfast, lunch, or dinner at nearly any table-service restaurant in the park and grants you guaranteed seating at one of three concert performances that day. We have visited the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival multiple times this year and we still haven’t experienced all of the delectable, mouth-watering goodnes and trust me when I say that you won’t want to miss out on any of these delicious bites! In addition to the returning Outdoor Kitchens like The Honey Bee-stro, the festival has four new Outdoor Kitchens this year: Arbor, The Citrus Blossom, Trowel & Trellis, and Flavor Full Kitchen! Fried green tomatoes, tuna tataki, blood orange aqua fresca, and grilled street corn on the cob are just a few of the new mouthwatering items featured on the menus.

- The Goodness Garden Butterfly House Presented by GoGo squeeZ – Visit this foliage-filled exhibit at Future World West to view a kaleidoscope of butterflies and observe several species up close, learning about their life cycles and maybe even witnessing them emerging from chrysalises.
- Tropical Rainforest Garden – Visit the Mexico Pavilion and learn how Mexico rainforests are rich with plants and animals that have adapted to a wide variety of light levels and water conditions.
- Urban Spice – At the Morocco Pavilion, learn how in many eastern cultures, ancient spices were considered more valuable than gold. Even today, many cultures are defined by their signature spices and herb blends, created from plant leaves, stems, roots, seeds and flowers.
