Fall that means the leaves are changing colors and the air is getting cooler outside. Fall brings in a lot of great opportunities to spend quality time with the family and enjoy the outdoors.
These activities are either free or very inexpensive, so, if you’re saving money for the upcoming holidays, these are great ideas to get out and do something fun with the family.
Insect Collecting
During the fall many insects travel to warmer climates or warmer areas. Take this opportunity to learn about the different insects and start a bug collection. You can find insects in the backyard or even local parks. Make it a learning activity by researching any insects you may find.
Enjoy the Farmer’s Market
Visit a local farmers market to stock up on squashes, veggies, apples and more. Vendors will often give out free samples or offer different fall-themed candies to try.
Rake Up Leaves And Create Your Own Leaf Maze
Kids will love jumping in the fall leaves and you might too! It also helps with the outside chores, but kids will love doing it because they get something fun out of it! Once the leaves are raked up you can even create a fun leaf maze for everyone to venture through.
Build And Enjoy A Bonfire
Enjoy the cooler, but not freezing cold temps, outside in front of the bonfire. Roast marshmallows, make s’ mores or enjoy a nice dinner outside by cooking hotdogs on the campfire.
